In celebration of the many things we all have to be thankful for, Boulder's Pedestrian© Shops are encouraging customers to donate shoes they don't use to help people in need.
From Monday November 22nd through Sunday December 15th, customers are encouraged to bring in a slightly used pair of shoes and receive a 10% discount on any new pair of shoes, boots, slippers, or clogs including footwear already SALE PRICED. The Pedestrian Shops donates the usable footwear to the Boulder Shelter for the Homeless, First Presbyterian's Deacon's Closet, and other local assistance organizations.
This is the thirteenth Thanksgiving Shoe Drive run by the Pedestrian© Shops, a local retailer featuring comfortable brands of shoes. The Pedestrian also conducts a similar campaign each April as a part of its Earth Day celebration. Over ten thousand pairs of shoes have been collected over the past thirteen years.
The Pedestrian© Shops' owner, Richard Polk, said, "We especially appreciate the people who don't need new shoes, but take the time to bring us shoes they don't wear, just because they want to help someone in need.
The Pedestrian© Shops have two locations: one at 1425 Pearl on the Downtown Mall, the other in the Village Shopping Center facing Folsom between Arapahoe and Canyon.
