In celebration of the many things we all have to be thankful for, Boulder’s Pedestrian Shops are encouraging people to donate shoes they don’t use to help other people in need.

From Monday November 21st through Sunday December 14th, customers are encouraged to bring in a slightly used pair of shoes and receive a 10% discount on any new pair of shoes, boots, slippers, or clogs including footwear already SALE PRICED. The Pedestrian Shops donates the usable footwear to local assistance organizations.

This is the Pedestrian Shops fourteenth Thanksgiving Shoe Drive. It also conducts a similar shoe drive each April as a part of its Earth Day celebration. Over 12,000 pairs of shoes have been collected for reuse over the past thirteen years.

Pedestrian Shops’ owner, Richard Polk, said, “We especially appreciate the people who don’t need new shoes, but still take the time to bring us shoes they just don’t wear, because they want to help someone in need.”

The Pedestrian Shops have three locations: one at 1425 Pearl on the Downtown Mall, a second in the Village Shopping Center facing Folsom between Arapahoe and Canyon, and a third on the internet at: http://www.comfortableshoes.com/
